IP Blocking
What is IP blocking and what does it mean for website visitors? In which cases is it useful?
In case you notice a major increase in the traffic to your Internet site and if after you check the visitor stats it turns out that it comes from areas all over the world or from other servers, your Internet site is probably being attacked by an automatic bot. These pieces of software go through random websites looking to log in to their administration area using a brute-force attack or to leave spam comments underneath any article where this type of an option is provided. However, that's something quite frequent in recent times, but if you know the IP addresses from which the attacks come, you may block them, so the bots won't be able to access your site in any way. Naturally, you may block IPs even if you allow only people from particular countries to access your website.

IP Blocking in Cloud Web Hosting
If you have a
cloud web hosting account with our company and you want to block one or a few IP addresses, you may use the IP Blocking tool, which is incorporated into our in-house built Hepsia Control Panel. By using a really simple interface, you'll be able to prevent any IP from accessing your content even if you have not had a web hosting account before. All it requires to complete this is to log within to your Control Panel, to navigate to the IP Blocking section, to pick a certain domain or subdomain from a drop-down menu and then to input the IP address. You'll not need to do anything challenging if you want to block a whole network - you'll simply have to omit the last octet, so entering 1.1.1. with a blank space after the last dot will block the full range from 1.1.1.1 to 1.1.1.255. All blocked IPs will be listed in the same section, so you'll be able to remove any of them from the blacklist with a mouse click.
